Print positions on a vest

• The front is two narrow panels either side of the opening, so a chest print is a small one — about 9 × 6 cm. A crest, a name, or a short word rather than a wide logo
• The back is the big one — one clean fluoro panel, up to about 28 × 20 cm. That is where a business name, “VISITOR” or a full club logo belongs, and it is the print people actually read from a distance
• Want lettering on both chest panels as well as the back? Add the second chest as an extra location and we do all three
• Plain fluoro with no tape means there is nothing in the way — this is the easiest garment in the range to print on

Garment & specs

• Style code: Blue Whale V81 (SKU format V81-COLOUR-SIZE)
• 130gsm 100% polyester — light, quick drying and hard wearing
• Regular fit, hook-and-loop front closure, navy binding along every edge
• Day use only. Complies with AS/NZS 4602.1:2011 and AS/NZS 1906.4:2010 Class D. There is no reflective tape on this vest, so it is not rated for night work — if your site requires day/night, use the V82 day/night vest instead
• 2 colours: Fluoro Yellow/Navy and Fluoro Orange/Navy. Sizes XS–3XL and 5XL in both
• Worn over other clothing, so it is cut generously — most crews order S/M/L/XL only and it works

Print & care

We print with DTF (direct-to-film) — full colour, no colour limit, no setup fee, and it bonds to 100% polyester that DTG cannot handle. Our transfers are tested for 50+ washes when pressed and cared for as directed.

• Wash inside out, cold or warm (max 40°C), gentle cycle
• No bleach and no fabric softener on the print
• Hang dry — this fabric dries in minutes and dryer heat is hard on the print
• Never iron over the print
• Leave 24 hours before the first wash

Artwork

• Best files: PNG with a transparent background, or vector — AI, EPS, PDF or SVG. These print exactly as supplied
• JPGs, screenshots and photos of a logo are still accepted. If the background has to be cut out an artwork fee may apply — we always quote before we start and you can approve or decline
• Text only — a business name, a role like “MARSHAL”, or numbers? Type it into the notes on this page and we set it for free
• 300 DPI at the final print size
• Minimum line thickness 0.5 mm so fine detail holds
• White in your artwork prints as white ink — if you want the garment colour to show through, make it transparent
• Up to 20 MB per file through the uploader; larger files, just email them

Size guide

All measurements in centimetres. Chest is a half-chest measurement — taken across the garment laid flat, not around your body. This vest is designed to be worn over a shirt or jumper, so it is cut wider than a polo of the same size.

Blue Whale does not make this vest in 4XL — the run goes XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, then straight to 5XL. That is the manufacturer’s size run, not a gap in our stock. Blue Whale labels the 68 cm size XXL; we list it as 2XL so it sorts with the rest of our range. Blue Whale publishes chest only for this style; we have not invented a length column.
