Print positions on a hi vis drill shirt

• We only press onto the fluoro panel. A logo that crosses the fluoro/navy seam sits half on each colour and the seam itself presses unevenly, so every position below sits above the split
• We do not press over a pocket flap — a double layer of drill with a stud under it will not sit flat on the platen. Chest logos go in the strip between the collar and the pocket flaps, which makes them smaller than on a polo: about 9 × 6 cm. A crest or a stacked logo works; a wide banner does not
• The pen pocket sits on the wearer’s left sleeve. We press a sleeve logo clear of it, or use the right sleeve — tell us in the notes if you have a preference
• The back is where the space is — one clean fluoro panel, up to about 28 × 20 cm. That is where a business name belongs on this shirt

• 155gsm 100% cotton twill, pre-shrunk — light for a drill shirt, and cotton does not melt the way polyester does
• Regular fit, long sleeve, twin chest pockets with button-up flaps, pen pocket on the left sleeve
• Cotton mesh air-flow vents under both arms and a hidden mesh vent across the back shoulder
• Day use only. Complies with AS/NZS 1906.4:2023 and AS/NZS 4602.1:2024 Class D. There is no reflective tape on this garment, so it is not rated for night work
• UPF 50+, protection category Excellent
• Not flame resistant. Cotton does not melt onto skin, which is why a lot of trades prefer it, but this shirt carries no FR rating and is not a substitute for FR workwear
• 2 colours: Safety Yellow/Navy and Safety Orange/Navy. Sizes XS–5XL in both

Print & care

We print with DTF (direct-to-film) — full colour, no colour limit, no setup fee, and it sits well on cotton drill. Our transfers are tested for 50+ washes when pressed and cared for as directed.

• Wash inside out, cold or warm (max 40°C), gentle cycle
• No bleach and no fabric softener on the print
• Hang dry — a hot dryer is the fastest way to shorten the life of any print
• Never iron over the print
• Leave 24 hours before the first wash
• Pre-shrunk cotton still relaxes a little on the first wash; buy the size you measure, not one down

Artwork

• Best files: PNG with a transparent background, or vector — AI, EPS, PDF or SVG. These print exactly as supplied
• JPGs, screenshots and photos of a logo are still accepted. If the background has to be cut out an artwork fee may apply — we always quote before we start and you can approve or decline
• Text only — a business name, a role, or numbers? Type it into the notes on this page and we set it for free
• 300 DPI at the final print size
• Minimum line thickness 0.5 mm so fine detail holds
• White in your artwork prints as white ink — if you want the garment colour to show through, make it transparent
• Up to 20 MB per file through the uploader; larger files, just email them

Size guide

All measurements in centimetres. Chest is a half-chest measurement — taken across the garment laid flat, not around your body. Collar is the finished neck measurement, which is how drill shirts are usually sized.

Blue Whale publishes collar and chest only for this style; we have not invented a sleeve-length column. Blue Whale labels the 46 cm collar XXL; we list it as 2XL so it sorts with the rest of our range.
